Back story

Rachel Macniven

I was born in Scotland in the 70s, surrounded by country side, nature and having livestock, dogs, cats, stick insects, rabbits, hamsters and my mother running at pet sitting service which included breaking in polo ponies and caring for and training horses, I have always been in close contact with animals.

Now as an adult with 2 horses – Onyx and Amber, a beautiful rottweiler -Star, and a bi eyed cat – Luna, I am totally immersed into the world and psychology of animals of all different shapes and sizes.

I am a qualified Cranio Sacral Therapist and often work with animals, particularly horses to help alleviate ailments which can be caused by blockages in the nervous system.

Animals and humans alike benefit hugely from this light touch therapy as it is not invasive to the recipient. This gives me a unique bond with all creatures great and small as we connect on a different level beyond words. This is what makes working with animals in photography so rewarding as we see one another, which makes it a great experience for us both producing beautiful captures for you to keep.

I have travelled the length and breadth of the United Kingdom in mine and my partners camper van taking thousands of photos along the way, I believe that life is for living and work should be enjoyed which is why I do what I do. I love meeting new people and their beloved pets and making lasting memories for us both.
